It seems that the autofocus on my T5i is not focusing on what it intends to. It seems to be truely in focus a little behind what the camera will beep saying is in focus. It is especially noticeable with my 50mm f1.8 with a narrow depth of field. I use single point autofocus and the camera will say it is focused on a certain point in the frame
If the subject's face is significantly out of focus, face detection will not be possible. If the lens enables manual focusing even while the lens's focus mode switch is set to , turn the focusing ring to attain rough focus. The face will then be detected and < > will be displayed. An object other than a human face may be detected as a face.Every time this happens to me it is the result of the little AF/MF switch on the lens having been bumped in the camera bag and switched from Auto Focus AF to Manual focus MF. I heard a rumor that the Canon 6D similar to the 5d MKII cant autofocus in HD Video. That can't be If that is true Canon severely crippled the 6D. 5D Mark II CAN autofocus during HD video, but it's terrible. Phase detection AF can't be used because that requires the mirror to be down, which blocks the sensor.. 230 994 708 87 30 477 928 231
