Cheers, be safe ! Especially with lack of highway, the smc-r will be so much fun. It does absolutely fine at highway speed and has plenty of power (obvious lack of wind protection), but its most enjoyable on roads that are 25-50 mph. I've had a 701 and now a 690 smcr and I adore the bike.
