I bought a brand new cable (Garmin original) and it also did not work. The watch charges OK, just won't sync. Until today. I tried the turn it off and connect it suggestion from above. It worked. As the watch started up it synced and Garmin Express now shows the watch attached. Clearly Garmin you have a major bug in the update.
