I have today taken delivery of my superb estate 4x4 elegance with the Columbus sat nav. The car was build week 29 and is the 2011 model year and the instruction manual indicates the availability of HFP and rSAP connectivity. I also noticed that the some of the physical buttons (e.g. mode) don't work once the software is in this state until the car has been reset (e.g. 30 mins idle) Posted. I have the physical knobs on mine. I have a Octavia 2017, beautiful car. I am struggling to get my new phone to connect to Android Auto. I have just bought a Samsung A71 and the phone connection is not compatible with the USB connection. I have bought a cable that fits my phone and my USB in the car, but it still wont connect with the Android Auto system. Can anybody help me?

Plugging my Phone in, via a USB C cable and the USB MDI adaptor (proper Skoda one from the dealership), the MDI didn't recognise my phone was connected, and just showed AUX like it does when I plug into the 3.5mm socket :
2018 Octavia. I'm trying to connect my phone to the USB port to use Android Auto. Should a normal USB cable fit in the port under the heater controls? I think the actual USB port insert is pushed too far back behind the housing
